watering chicken and turkeys

i have about 140 chickens and 7 turkeys
i water them with nipples [16 nipples 4 in each of 4 pails] with a gravity system
they don't seem to be getting enough water.
why? they are not crowded at waterier
when i let them out they run for water puddle

Are they vertical or horizontal nipples?
I believe it is supposed to be one nipple for 5 birds so you may need about twice as many without seeing your setup.

I use rubber livestock bowls and plastic water fonts. Set up on Bricks. Then I know my Birds are drinking enough.

They won't work horizontally, they are 2 different nipples.

One problem with vertical nipples is all the birds need to be the same height.
The horizontal ones are a bit more forgiving in that regard.

I like to use cups and nipples together so they have different options. Some seem to prefer one type and others don't really care.

Those drinker cups are the best - except in freezing weather.
I like how they spin off for easy cleaning.
I tried a different type with a float that works very well for baby chicks because there is always water in it but it is a pain to clean.
