Watermelon Rind???

My flock eats it like crazy, they like their melon refrigerated, it's hot hot here in the south!

I tried that with my brand new chickens. I had some watermelon for lunch and gave them the rind. No dice. The squirrels in the pine trees overhead were going nuts at the mere sight of it, though. I think all the hens got was chicken feed on the farm where they were raised and now are like picky kids! They are sloooowly trying other foods. Grapes, figs, and BOSS have been hits so far. They weren't sure about cooked rice at first, but now they dig in!
