Watermelon :-) What treats do your chickens love?

My chickens love anything I'm eating. If I have it, they want it.

I like to give my chickens stuff that I don't eat anyway. Watermelon rinds, strawberry hulls, carrot peel, mushy grapes, stale rice...

Ours go nuts for melon, but they also adore elderberries, and loquats. We also had leftover mealworms at some point, and nightcrawlers from a fishing trip, and they went crazy for them.

I've never seen chickens as excited as when I tossed some maggots in for them that had unfortunately gotten into our compost bucket. I thought they would die of happiness. Nope! They just made the creamiest richest egg yolks a few days later. Maggots fed to chickens= best eggs ever!

Our wyandottes are SOOO picky when it comes to food, even with watermelon, some like it, some don't, my usual 6 full grown ones LOVE! and i mean LOVE! it! If your anywhere near them when u give it to them they will splash watermelon juice EVERYWHERE, lol gets sticky.

My Girls are Pumpkin Eaters. After I am done with my harvest display for the season they make
use of it. I think they look forward to fall because they get to eat my decor.

Oh they are beautiful! Ours love corn on the cob and tomatoes! Oh and they love to eat my flowers and toss the mulch all over.....
