This is a national problem. Even Canada sold there water rites. Nestley which is owned by foreigners is buying our water rights, rite out from under us. (There just one of the company's) In 1864 There was a thing called the civil war. When that war started our constitution went out the window. Believe it or not WE THE PEOPLE still haven't amended our constitution. At least 37 of the states haven't. There for it doesn't exist. The amendment has to be made by the people! How many of us were taught constitutional law in school? We were all suppose to of, but they forgot to teach it! We are considerd a beligerante nation, that falls under the laws of the UN. Read the War Powers Act! We haven't any rites to our natural minerals anymore.........Freedom comes with Unity & education my friends. NON of which we have as a nation. JFK signed all the necessary papers to give us back our freedom, and told the country to educate ourselfs. We see what happened there! .......I cant even get started on this it makes me sick, becouse I know it's to late!

"(9) `ground waters' are treated separately from `waters of the United States' for purposes of the Federal Water Pollution Control Act and are not considered `waters of the United States' under this Act;"

I think that refers to wells, dont it? I could be wrong.

No surprise... Next they'll likely try to regulate what you can grow in your backyard. I honestly would not be surprised if they tried that. Ever since Dishonest Abe (shudder), the Constitution has been ignored and treated like a blank piece of paper. The bill DOES seem to exclude wells, however. Still, giving the government ANY extra power besides what is explicitly stated in the Constitution is a VERY BAD IDEA. Especially if it goes to some useless and completely counterproductive agency like the EPA.

Have you noticed you hear nothing about this issue on the news. Today we called our senators and the local news stations. Something should be done to alert the people whats happening. One of the senators office said they were only discussing the bill, that there isnt a vote coming up. I am waiting to see if the investagative reporters on the TV news do anything about the story.

Why don't they just rework the old well?

That is what I say time after time. I dont know who said it but I believe someone (besides me) said-"When governments grow, freedoms constrict". Again, both parties are doing this. It does seem like one of them does it at a quicker pace, but every adminitstration has done this during my lifetime (41). It sometimes happens in little bitty doses and sometimes happens in a big way but it is always happening now. We are still the best place on earth to live, we have not gone to far. Yet. I fear that "to far" is not that far away.

Ok, back to the well thingie, why wouldnt they give that guy a permit to drill another well? Did they given him a direct reason as to why he was denied?

Thats a good question, did the water table drop?

I wish I could agree with you, but this Union is too far gone. Speaking of the entire Union, we are at the point of no return. Something is going to happen. The government may bankrupt itself, hyperinflation may destroy the economy, states may secede, and many other things could happen. Frankly, I think the three that I mentioned are gonna happen, possibly quite soon. Hyperinflation is on the horizon, the debt is going up at insane speeds, and 35% of Texans want to secede. That number will grow in all States, and I honestly think that's a good thing. I have nothing personal against Mr. Obama, but he has done more to expand the powers of government in a few months than many presidents have in their whole terms. Okay, sorry for the subject change, but I seriously needed to get that off my chest.

I am a native Texan. The issue about Texas secedeing (sp?) is a touchy one. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE UNITED STATES of AMERICA. Without out a doubt. There is only one thing that could give me pause, and that would be an attack on my state of Texas. Be it armed, or an economic attack or the fed government taking state of Texas rights away from Texans. Deciding to Secede (is that how you spell that?) should not just be a decision made in a rash fashion. There are consequenses to leaving the Union. For one, just for starters, I believe Texas recieves more fed money than any other state. I may be wrong but I remember hearing that before. I never did varify that.

Another civil war. How fun is that? I can see Texans lined up on the Okie border yelling "Remember the Alamo". Texas won't try to secede. They have too much stimulus money coming. That was just the idiot gov down there trying to make a point. Last good governor Tx had was Ann Richards. Downhill since then.

The south is still too racist to accept a black man in the Whitehouse. I haven't lived in Tx since 93 but I would be willing to bet the N word gets used a lot when talking about our President.
