The old well is *only 450 feet deep* and they require an 800 foot well. They are SOL - there are no permits being issued for commercial or ag wells right now, even if you have the rights to it.

Beak, no offense, but take your racist accusations to another thread. This one here is about water rights, not skin color. People can disagree with Barack Obama's policies and NOT be a racist.

Don't need a permit for a new well the old well can be remodeled!

No, that isn't correct...you do need a permit to drill down deeper.

Comments like this one:

The south is still too racist to accept a black man in the Whitehouse. I haven't lived in Tx since 93 but I would be willing to bet the N word gets used a lot when talking about our President.

will NOT be tolerated here, folks. Flaming is against our BYC rules.

3. No Flaming (verbally attacking people or groups of people - e.g. a profession, an organization, a company.)

And before I get Pms saying, "Well, he said this and I didn't say anything any worse than he did!" let me tell you that your conduct should not depend on what someone else does. And, I have not read this entire thread, but keep this low key or it will disappear.

I am a native Texan. The issue about Texas secedeing (sp?) is a touchy one. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE UNITED STATES of AMERICA. Without out a doubt. There is only one thing that could give me pause, and that would be an attack on my state of Texas. Be it armed, or an economic attack or the fed government taking state of Texas rights away from Texans. Deciding to Secede (is that how you spell that?) should not just be a decision made in a rash fashion. There are consequenses to leaving the Union. For one, just for starters, I believe Texas recieves more fed money than any other state. I may be wrong but I remember hearing that before. I never did varify that.

I know it's touchy, and I love the US too. The problem is, it's going downhill and there is no way to stop it. The best we can do now is get out of the way. If any state seceded, it would almost definitely rejoin AFTER the government got its head on straight.

First: Why would there be another War? Obama is not a power-hungry tyrant like Lincoln was. States can secede peacefully.

Second: Why do you people automatically accuse anyone who wants to secede as a racist? I, for one, am no racist. Keep in mind, before, during, and for a while after the War of Northern Aggression the Northerners were just as racist (if not more so) than the South.

BTW, sorry for hijacking the thread. I actually hijacked my own thread as well.

Also, everyone seems to be able to handle talking about volatile subjects! Congrats on being the most level-headed forum I've seen!

Wow, thats kinda harsh. One could summize that this probably happens in every state in the Union.

WATER people WATER! IF you want to talk about racism, go start you own thread so this one doesnt get closed!

Anyway...... I am really hot and thirsty! Reading this is making it worse. I am watering my garden every 3 days, and it still wilts from the dry heat. Without water this whole valley would wither up and die. And if we cant drill wells, there will be an even bigger use on the water supply, and then they will ration the water even more.

I can see my garden and my chickens going bye-bye..... All so the people on the front range can have pretty lawns and run gallons of water down their drains everyday.

And I dont have half as much at stake as the farmers.
