Waterville Maine Tractor Supply Flock Swap 5-13-12

I'm getting excited for this weekend. should be great weather wise. I may have to break down and go to the dr tomorrow, icing, elevating and staying off my ankle is not helping. just got a compression bandage on it today and if not better by morning, i will have to go in and they probably will tell me to stay off it, ice it and take XXX drug. hopefully aleve will do something, that's all I have that I'm not allergic to.

if it goes well, it will be a regular swap- always a sunday due to the traffic (turning tractor trailer trucks)
I have my final list of birds gathered.
1 EE black cockeral
1 blue laced red cockeral (splash)
2 black orp pullets-(all 12-14 weeks old)
then the younger group of 8 week old mostly black orps, some split to lavender boys and girls.
i will bring only if reserved prior, black wyandotte cockerals- all straight combed. will be good meat type birds.
also anyone wanting a BYC tempory tattoo, please stop by, I have a few thanks to BYC giving me a 5 yr bonus gift, so spreading them around.

was thinking of going to this but see there is not much hussle and bustle on this thread??? I live in Auburn and got a bunch of bantam roos to sell, also some guineas...so im hoping there is a good turnout, i got off work today (saterday) to go to the one in lewiston, it was pretty good, not as large as I had hoped for, but sold 3 birds: 2 silkie roos and a millie...so was hoping to make the hike to waterville.... but also need to till the garden which is quite the project.... so wondering how many ppl will come out for mother's day for a swap??

anyone know how many ppl are actually going and what they are bringing?

Thanks!!!

this is a new location so hoping for a good turn out but it is also mother's day(but what does mom want for mother's day- poultry!) i had heard that someone was bringing seedlings. I am bringing some pullets/cockerals- orps and some wyandottes. even though people are not posting here, it doesn't mean there won't be a good turn out, just they may not be on BYC. I've had several phone calls regarding this swap and people that are coming. if you are coming, I'd come early and see how it goes.

for a first swap, i think it went pretty well. the store is going to work on better signage in the store. they had another animal event yesterday so confused people about what day was the swap. I had to call up a person and tell him to bring his silkie, I had buyers waiting for him to arrive. I came home with 2 of my own. we had about 7 venders. hopefully next time we will have more. I need to talk with the store but plan to make this a monthly swap. (and not on mothers day)
HOw did it go?
