Hello all, I have a chicken that has been a bit lethargic for a few days and has been laying diarrhoea like this, she has been scratching about with her sisters and eating and drinking normally, but I brought her in the last couple of nights to keep an eye on her, but this is still going on, I’ve given her pick me ups electrolytes vitamins in the water, but she still seems to be having this watery diarrhoea without having a solid poo in days, it’s quite grainy almost as if it’s full of birdseed but she’s just eating organic, layers pellets, no greens, no corn, no treats, does anyone have any suggestions of what it could be, I’ve checked for worms up close I can’t really say anything and all of them were wormed about eight weeks ago

Usually you will not see worms, but there could be worm eggs. Valbazen or Safeguard liquid goat wormer would be good to worm her. Does she have granite grit to help her gizzard grind up food? How old is she ? Does she lay eggs? What are you feeding her?

I am currently feeding them marriages worming pellets, she has rallied the last 24 hours, which is good, her droppings are still quite watery, they have constant access to grit, and I only feed them organic Alan and page layers pellets, she is about three years old and is a Lomen brown Rhode Island red hybrid and currently not laying. I have just sent a sample off in the post to check if she has worms
