One of my speckled sussex girls (she was born in January) pooped and it was all watery looking with two bits of poo like substance in it. Has anyone seen anything like this before?

I guess it's poop. I wasn't sure what to call it since I've never seen it before. It's really hot here lately, in the high 90's. I keep them as hydrated as I can. There are no other symptomsIs it discharge or poop? Looks like watery poop to me. If your weather is hot, poop can look like that due to drinking more and eating less. You don't mention any other symptoms - if she is lethargic, not eating/drinking or seems to be in distress then I would investigate further.
Thank you so much, this is my first time having chickens and I got worried that she was illThen I would say it's watery poop from drinking a lot. I think most people are struggling with heat right now. Keep was refreshed and cool when you can and make sure they have plenty of shade.
If you notice any other symptoms like I mentioned, then you will want to pay close attention.
It's very good that you are taking note of their poop!Thank you so much, this is my first time having chickens and I got worried that she was ill
They're my feathered kids, I watch everything they do . . . maybe too much! It's very good that you are taking note of their poop!It sounds strange to say that, but with chickens, often times poop can be the first clue that something is "amiss".
Chicken poop varies greatly in texture, color, density, depending on what they eat, etc., the longer you have chickens, the more you will notice what is "normal" and what you need to monitor more closely. IF I had seen poop like that in Cool/Cold weather or if there were other symptoms, then I would be concerned.
I'm in Sonora, Ca which is close to CA armpit. It's been in the 90's for weeks and the future forecast is all in the 90's. ughYa, down here in the armpit of the west coast where it is frequently 100 I see it quite often from my girls. They are eating ok and laying eggs just not as many and are being the little excavators they can be, so I just keep a close eye on them and let them go about their day.
Inland Empire hereI'm in Sonora, Ca which is close to CA armpit. It's been in the 90's for weeks and the future forecast is all in the 90's. ugh
