Well...
I heard an awful lot of chirping...
Walked out, and my 75 lb German Shepard is standing in the brooder. There were turkeys everywhere. And chickens. Not harmed, just trying to figure out what the heck happened, and get back in. Somehow he nudged the pen open, and I'm sure he was going after the yogurt I put in for the chicks. He's a dairy-loving dog.
But he didn't so much as lift a paw against them, and neither did the other dogs, who were watching with much amusement. (Not all were outside)
So far, I think everyone's accounted for. And Nikolai the shepard did a fine job of "leave it." Well, except where the yogurt was concerned.
It's a little too free-rangy for me just yet. And they're just babies!
Whew! One bullet dodged... which would have made the whole do-I-give-antibiotics-or-not debate moot. That would be one of the reasons I was keeping the garage door shut. Ha!
