Morning. Not sure where I should post this inquiry??? One of my hens has liquid poops with just a little soft stool. This has been going on for at least a week.

My apologies I haven’t been able to find the right forum where this is discussed.

Les, the Silver Wyandotte, has an average diet. Pellets with very little table scraps. She is molting so I’ve been giving a little extra mealworms. She roams during the day. Please advise.

That seems to happen to my chickens when they are molting, so I think it might be related to their molting. I noticed my chickens don’t eat much and act sort of sick when they molt, but they still drink lots of water. They also seem like they lose a lot of weight. I actually brought my favorite chicken to the vet to have some tests run and they couldn’t find anything but she was going through a really horrible molt. I opted to put her on some antibiotics in case she had something bacterial that they couldn’t find. Then I noticed when each chicken was going through their molt, if it was a bad one they also got diarrhea. I am not 100% sure that the two are related, but I sort of have a hunch from what I have observed. Next year I won’t be spending $250 to take my chicken to the vet:)

If you can take some good clear picture in daylight preferably so the colours are decent people can take a guess at what the cause may be.

Thanks. Very helpful insight. I’ve done the $185 vet visits twice and no going there anymore. ;~)
