Rules:
  1. Four entries per member. One entry per post, please.
  2. An entry is one picture of your domestic poultry and a blurb about why they hold a special place in your heart.
  3. All domestic poultry is allowed (chickens, turkeys, ducks, geese, peafowl, guinea fowl, quail, pheasants, pigeons, doves, etc.).
  4. The photo needs to have been taken by you.
  5. You cannot use a photo that won an award in another BYC-sponsored contest.
  6. High-quality images are recommended. Basic editing, such as cropping and other subtle changes, are allowed.
  7. ALL photos MUST be uploaded to BYC and not hosted on other image sites, personal websites, etc.
  8. Prizes are limited to one per person per contest.
  9. All BYC rules apply: Terms of Service (Rules)
  10. Entries will be accepted until February 17th, 2025, at 11:59 PM Pacific Time.
Note: We will use a random number generator to select our winners for this Contest.

Clementine is my boy. He can be playful, but takes no crap. Here hes been playing in the mud saying "look at me Mom!

Every time I am in the coop to clean she hops up on the roosting bar where I am so she can get picked up for lovin’s. She lets me hold her and give her kisses all the time and closes her little eyes when I love on her. All my other hens come to me but don’t want loved on. She’s the only one. What a sweet girl! She reminds me of my Sarah. Chickens who love to be cuddled are always the best. 🥰

Yes he is! I loved his feathers and fell in love with his picture so I made the hour and a half trip to pick him and two other sweet silkie boys up a couple years ago! I told myself I'd never travel over 30 minutes for a rooster, well I did and I do it over and over again if they were all like Roo! I'm hoping to hatch some of his babies in the spring:love

Little miss Kyle!!!! 😊 She's adorable. She's a black bantam frizzle! She's got some friends, but I think she also loves to hang out with dogs. But she better be careful she was pecking bugs off one of our dogs and he just got up and showed his teeth at her! Some nights she'll sneak up on the porch, in the dog box!!!!😶 The guy that gave her to us. Said he had too many roosters, so he gave us him ("her'). But one day she laid an egg, after that she laid a few more eggs. But then stopped and never laid one again, when we got her she had one buddy. Her name was blackie, but she was old. And one day died. And so Kyle was all by herself, and she would come running up to us. She was so lonely. So we got a rooster and hen. And they had chicks. And now we are where we are today!! She's so sweet! We used to raise and sell German shepherds! She grew up around the puppy lot. And she loves dog food!🤦😂 And she would try to poke their eyes out!! 😧 😆 But she is an adorable little girl!!!!!!! I couldn't decide which photo!! I have sooo many!! 😂 But the picture I decided to use. Was actually when we cut down a tree, I put her on it. And we were not thinking, but she got stuck to the sap!!!! 😂😧🤦

What a wonderful story! I'm glad you were to get her, even though she was supposed to be a rooster. She's very pretty. It's not every day you get a chicken who's good with dogs. 🥰
