I know what you mean. I had a couple ladies here so depressed moulting I ended up giving them some Tylenol (like a baby teething) to help them feel more comfortable.

Works like a charm, helps them feel better so they continue to eat well. I have had a few hens that didn’t handle moulting well in the past, this way I can make sure that they are not struggling.

Takes a lot of energy to grow new feathers! And stay warm when they moult in chilly weather.

I’m going to try that! French Fry always feels the worst when she molts! Thanks for sharing.

The dose is 10mg/kg.

I use infant liquid Tylenol, 80mg/ml

A 2kg (approx 5lb) chook gets 0.25ml (a quarter of a ml). Twice daily (every 12 hrs).

A couple days should be good, if she doesn’t feel better then you will need to get her eating something - I like scrambled eggs for them. Or beef, sardines, etc.
