Wattle Wednesday

After the bravery Clyde showed he should be renamed Sir Clyde. He deserves the title.
Initially I called him Clydette in the hopes he was a she. He had these really fuzzy legs like Clydesdale horse.

Then one day she crowed! I was suspicious she was a he though.

Meanwhile the other chick is a pullet (his sister) and has just started laying eggs.

He’s a beautiful Roo, is he a speckled suspect?

Hahaha sorry meant Sussex 😆
Ha ha! Yes he’s a speckled Sussex. And he earned hero status today at the ripe old age of 5 1/2 months. He fought off a sharp shinned hawk and saved the rest of the flock! We were a little unsure about him because he’s a bit of a dipstick, but that all changed today! Great job Bill!!! He and the rest of the flock enjoyed some grain snacks as well as scrambled eggs for a treat after everyone calmed down.
