I'm with Jacie.........the price on Cynthia's land would be a steal around here. I just saw a lot (which is less than 1/4 acre or so) on the outskirts of our town for 70k, and it's not even a flat lot. Couldn't build or put a manufactured house on it without putting fill in first.

Good luck to you, Cynthia.

Thank you. Yep, as a realtor and as someone who has lived in several different states and owned homes in four of them, land and home prices vary wildly, that's for sure. For here, this is a good price, especially for anyone who wants to own some livestock and doesnt want a HOA looking over their shoulder.

A small cottage on an eighth of an acre would sell for a mill in my neighborhood!

I think it will be better for work in the future here because the area is growing up. We just got a Home Depot, a new ACE hardware and new Lowe's in the area and I'm sure there will be a new WalMart (ugh) in the near future. There hasn't been alot in the past and kids who graduated basically left for the nearby larger cities like Chattanooga or Knoxville in Tn or went down to Atlanta to find work. With all the growth, I bet jobs in the next ten years will be much better for kids graduating, but there isn't much high-tech stuff here right now.

That's beyond cheap compared to here... you can't even get a .14 acre lot to put a RV on for that price.

1 undeveloped residential acre as of last year was going for 500k-1000k each. The houses in the development down the street on .10-.14 acres are being sold in the 300k range.

It's all about the location... even in this buyers market.
