Way too early to tell (duh), but not a RIR?

The Red one (or any of them really), but specifically the red one for this question. I thought for sure by her coloring when we got them last Wednesday that little Reba here was a RIR. But, as their wings are really starting to feather, I’m thinking not so much. Obviously at a week old, no way to really tell, but any thoughts are appreciated!

I ordered 1 GLW, 1 Delaware (no idea if I really got one, I ended up with 5 white/yellow chicks), 3 EE (I believe 1 of these was my DOA), and 10 mixes (5 rare breed and 5 “production”), so really, they could be anything. Everybody has 4 toes, all but 2 are clean legged (the feathered leg ones were easier to identify, 1 white Cochin, 1 Lt Brahma), no “top hats”, 4 have puffy cheeks. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Whatever they are, we’re happy to have 14 healthy chicks developing some pretty unique colorings and personalities! The white ones are the only ones I have trouble telling apart, at least 3 of them anyway...one has feathered feet and one has light grey tinged fluff.

She looks similar to RIR to me. I'm sorry about your losses. That's tough.
I’ve been told I was “very lucky” as we only had 1 DOA out of 15 shipped chicks. My 6 year old mentions that one often, but she’s having great fun with the living 14.

The barring on the wings threw me a little...I’ve only had SLW and PBR chicks before. Thanks!

She looks like an RIR to me. My RIR chicks had that same pattern when they grew their first feathers.
This picture isn't very good, but you can kind of see the same pattern on the wings of the middle chick.

I know! They go through some wild changes. Good luck!!

Awesome! I’m actually excited to know who is “what”. It’s driving me crazy not knowing which one is my Delaware! 🤣 I don’t know if I’ll ever opt for the “assortments” again...so much stress not knowing what I got!
That is the tricky part with assortments! They're so fun though-my favorite way to get new chicks honestly. It seems so hard to wait, but soon enough they'll be feathered and laying and you'll wish you had these times back, even with the eagerness! That's how it always goes for me anyways 🙂
