we 80% cance on snow for tomorrow evening

they made it fine... it snowed hard .. when it finally began to stick it stopped snowing and only got down to freezing for 12 hours ... snow is gone now...

We had an 2 degree windchill the other night and I couldn't sleep. My coop has the down-wind side of one wall about half open window. I leaned a piece of hardboard against the windows and closed the front door and checked on them a few times over night. I ended up sitting in their pop door half-in half-out for about half an hour until I was relaxed. It was very peaceful. Those ladies were sitting on their roost two feet from my face saying, "What in the world are you doing?"

I know I'm a nut...

If things get really bad, I'll get a sleeping bag and spend the night!

The best part, though, they were ticked when they were trapped in the coop until noon because I overslept

They kept me up, and then they yell at me when I am late!

The nice thing about snow is that it often means WARMER weather than the alternative this time of year

When I saw snow forecast for this week, I was actually quite relieved; especially since we were in the low teens this weekend. 32 and snow is way more comfortable for slogging out to the henhouse in the morning XD
