We are attempting incubating again

Part 3
5.3 Of the three methods given above the most reliable is egg weight method and is recommended – particularly where poor hatch rates are experienced or if eggs of high value are being incubated.
5.4 Alter the setting of the ventilation control (reduce ventilation to increase humidity) and have water in neither, one or more of the water channels to change the humidity level. Humidity levels may be further increased by placing strips of evaporating card or cloth into one or more of the water channels. Evaporating card is available from Brinsea

5.5 In all cases the humidity for hatching needs to be high. Because of the short duration involved water/weight loss will not be significantly affected. High humidity is necessary to prevent membranes drying and hardening before the hatch fully emerges. Humidity will naturally increase as the first eggs begin to hatch and internal membranes begin to dry. This effect is in addition to the increased area of water evaporation from the water channels.
5.6 During hatching the high humidity levels will fall dramatically when the lid is opened and will take some time to build up. Resist the temptation to lift the lid frequently – leave for at least 6 hours between inspections.

Part 4 I omitted a few thing that don't pertain to your incubator
8 Hatching

8.3 Eggs nearing hatch are slightly less sensitive to temperature variation and the hatching temperature can be reduced by up to 2°F (1°C) but this is not essential.
8.4 Hatching humidity levels need to be high (see section 5 above) but note that the ventilation control must be at least 1/3rd open during hatching.

Final part 5
8.6 During hatching the high humidity levels will fall dramatically when the lid is lifted and will take some time to build up. Resist the temptation to open the incubator frequently – leave for at least 6 hours between inspections.

I don't have any problems weather or not I check a couple of times. Hopefully can help you some. These directions seem pretty good that came with my incubator I was looking on line before I bought it and could find any good instructions .

Glor thank u for the info,so im I understanding right ....more water higher humidity?niw the weighting of eggs I totally dont understand or comprehend,so thats not an option for me...lol...and from a experienced pea incubator they tell me humidity range for peas is 30%-50% then lockdown 60%-70%.so im still hoping this weekend will provide me 2 new peas...then my new pea eggs are due to arrive wed...so hopefully sucess on all of them, was also told incubating on side or pointed end doesnt matter sucess rate same...i won 4 eggs but seller said if extra were laid I get bonus eggs ,so im really hoping bonus eggs arrive too...
Now that we have air conditioning stable incubator seems to stay more stable, but this count down days r killing me from anticipation...lol...im sure u know what I mean.....then in a week or so anticipation on my muscovey ducks due to hatch....im seriously thinking of taking atleast 1 of my new pea eggs n seeing if my broody hen will hatch it that is if I only get 4 eggs but if I get bonus eggs will try 2 under broody hen...

Trying todo something with a baby horse is hard, training them especially if you aren't a trainer or knowledgeable breeder which we weren't/aren't the mom takes care of them great but when it's time to train them they are Green and very strong and do stupid things because they don't know anything and you can get hurt so personally and unless you have alot of $$ to hire someone who breaks them I wouldn't do it. My daughter and husband ride horses and know a lot but the horses we have someone eles did the hard work. Expensive for hay up here starts at $10.50 a bale for hay, about 98% of people who have horses here have to buy hay here because we don't have large acreage of lush feilds. KY must have Los of them there?. How many do you have? She has 1 quarter horse and 1 Other type I'm not sure the breed (not a common on around here) I'll stick to birds/fowl lol

I was thinking about sheep and doing the wool thing, I'm not a fan of lamb meat, I have a friend who lives with someone who has 3 sheep and uses them for wool and uses the yarn seems pretty awsome. You'll have to post when/if she has a baby/babies maybe when we move to WV in the next couple years, then I would also get a couple cows and raise our own beef. Sounds like your farm is your therapy when your there, it's a good thing. :@)

Your turm

Glor, your right horses if not broke r stubborn n alot of woek when u have no clue...lol.mine is 4yrs.old and a saddlehorse?think thats right...lol but she is soo sweet so I wont get rid of her, even though I have no time to work with her.as far as my sheep I bottles raised my girls n rescued my paint ram, they r soooo spoiled....they follow u around like puppies...too cute....i have over 3 acres for everyone so I only have to buy hay in winter months n I get a 5x5 roll of awesome hay for $30 bc my horse is picky when it comes to hay...lol spoiled like I said...yes my farm is my therepyn I miss being home sooo much, but my new husband has had 2 heart surgeries in a yr..so he cant work n hasnt in over yr n half now,n never will,so taking care of our farm keeps him alive literally,n taking care of my grandkids ive had custody of for 5 yrs.now, just wish I could stay at home, but it great going home n c how much everyones grown in 4 days... Makes me mad that theres fencing, etc at farm needing done soo bad n I cant do it being gone 4 days straight every week, but I guess we all hace our problems...i tried attatching a pic or 2 of my farm but pix attatchment wont work.pm me n ill send them that way if u want to see a peek...ur turn

I don't know how to post pictures to this site especially because I use a iPad I have a cell that takes pictures and can post them to FB
Or send the e-mail or IM if I have a number or address I can give you my email if you would like and trade phone numbers privately for IMing pictures
If your phone can do that. Our house here in MA sits on 4 acres but we have about 4 more listed separate, our home in WV has 50 beautiful acres, all fenced in.
My daughters other horse I a Standered Bred (sp?) the quarter horse and her old Thorough Bred that passed 2 xmasses ago, not good with those spellings got to be in WV for a year and a half and they were fat from all the pastures the goat was there too and got in shape running the mountain property with the horses.

Yes it sounds complicated measuring egg weight I can't be bothered either, but I will remember the pea egg things good to know, thanks. If you have older kids living at your home you could give them the job of watching eggs when your gone or have the little ones keep Grampa in line to do it and do it right (wink).

I've been looking at all the diffrent turkeys they have out there makes me want a pair of each. Oh my husband has a llama we had 3 at 1 time but had to down size a little. He kept the one he loved the most. He is alo the one who loves peacocks. So when I hatch some next year they will be for him although I will be the one taking care of them :@)

peas in lockdwn..fingers crossed.new pea egg shipment arrived got a surprise 2 extra as a bonus...sniff sniff as i was turning them a few mins ago 2 fell out of carton n broke...the 2 colors i really wanted 2...good thing i got extra eggs, going into incubator tomorrow....
