We are having another NC/VA/GA meeting!! (Need to find another place)

Everyone should read this thread about Biosecurity.

https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=17696

It is very important that you quarantine your birds no matter the source and if you have even one sick bird, your moral obligation is not NOT sell, swap, trade or give away any birds from your flock until you isolate the problem and fix it. This is probably the main reason the rules and regs are so tight anymore, IMO.

Too many of our members have been devasted by bringing in a sick chick or hen. Don't take a chance on it happening to you!

Hey peeps7, will you update your first post to include the location's address, the time, and the date.

Thanks! LOL That way anyone interested in going, doesn't need to hunt through the whole thread.

Please take gumpsgirl off of the list. After what has happened to my flock from the Danville Swap, I done going to swap meets. A word of caution for everyone who will be attending this swap. Please, please, please, quarantine away from the rest of your flock, everything you bring home from the swap for at least a month. This includes chicks. I had introduced a sick 6 day old chick to my flock and the consequences have been devastating. This cute little chick had cocciodosis, head lice, and Coryza. I brought it home on Sat. and it died on Wed. By that time the rest of my flock was sick. Make sure that you throughly check the birds you are buying BEFORE you buy and then quarantine. Just FYI and I wish everyone lot of happy chick buying/trading/selling!

Sorry to hear you are not coming gumpsgirl. I plan on attending, but I have already told myself I am not bringing any birds home.

I also plan on posting what animals I have available before going. That way I only bring what won't be coming back home with me.

Sorry about your flock. I learned the hard way too, not to just throw birds into the flock.

Sorry I haven't checked in in a while, I've been awful busy. Thanks chickenboy for posting the address, your great, lol.

I had an idea about eating. Instead of making reservations somewhere, why don't we have a picnic outside? Let me know what ya'll think about this. :)

Thank-you terrie for reminding about quarantine!! :)

Sorry about your flock gumpsgirl, we'll miss you!! Let me know if there is anything I can do. :)
