We are locked down!

Yes, this morning there are 9 with 4 more pipped. Wondering how long I should leave the dry babies in there. I know they live on the yolk for 24 to 48 hours and some people say 3 days but I know some are stronger than others in general and I don't want to push my luck. I also don't want to lose the ones that are pipped by opening the dang thing. The first one hatched on the 27th some time between 2am and 6am. Now I know you say they don't count hours LOL but I do. So one of those little guys is now past the 24 hour mark.)

They should stay in there for at Least 24 hours or until all of them have hatched. It is 3 days without food and water. Yes time doesn't matter. LOL Lets give them another 24 hours if No progress at all then candle them let me if they are still alive..

Will do! TY! Actually 2 of them are zipped. One pip I can see moving. Then I believe there are two other pips after that. It's getting hard to keep up because it's getting crowded in there with the babies and the mess. They keep rolling the other eggs around and making it harder for me to see. My wonderful incubator doesn't give the best view anyway.

Only have 2 eggs left. One unzipped, but died over night. The 2nd I took the cap off. I have a very dark Marans egg, I've candled it 3 times total, I still don't know if there's a chick in it! One chick, the one I took the cap off, its like he can't extend its leg fully. One legs fine, he hops around on it but the other he only leans on it.

Sorry about the one that passed. I wonder what is going on with the other ones leg and if it will straighten out?

Today we have had 5 hatch, and it looks like 4 or 5 more pipping.

Poor thing. :( You have had a great hatch tho. I wonder if it's little leg is broken. We had one that has a messed up leg that we bought from a hatchery. We didn't notice it until it was too late to splint it but we didn't kill her. She limps but she still lays and is fine otherwise. I've read that you can splint them and they heal very quickly. Basically because we didn't splint her we would have to re break it to do it. You can google it and find how to do it.

Get yourself some vitamin b complete. Put a pill in a quart of water then give him a couple of drops, he should be ok, just a deficiency..

What do u mean you took the cap off, are you helping them out??

If you have some polyvisol without iron, I would give him a drop of that as well. I had a Cochin hatch out and would drag is leg all over the place the other leg was find, I made him a bouncy chair and give him vitamin b in 24 hours he was using his leg, in about two days he was up walking around limping a little but the leg was getting stronger, you want him to use the leg to get his little muscles build up, it's the best thing for him..

He was unzipped for almost 24 hours. And was very weak. The last 3 that hatched were like that, the one I decided not to help didn't make it. The two I helped did, one is fine now the other has a weak leg.

I could not see movement from either of the last to eggs. I candleds them, the green egg is good. But the Marans egg is just to thick and dark. I heard nothing either, I then proceeded to do the float test. It was a low floater, and there was movement.
My bator is really stinking, and I removed all other chicks. Today is day 24, I really hope these other two pip soon. Temp is right at 100 humidity is 69.
