We ARE MOVING.....ALABAMA.. UPDATE pg.14

Congrats on your hubby's new job.

You'll love Alabama & Prattville is a really nice city. Like everyone else has said our winters are usually mild (although in my town we had snow 3x last year which is way more than usual; it was mainly flurries, though) & of course summers are extremely hot & humid. Spring has most definately arrived for us; there are trees & flowers blooming everywhere. I've already been wearing shorts for the past 2 or 3 weeks & we're going to uncover our pool next week. Of course, we take football very seriously (War Eagle

) & on game days you'll see just about everyone wearing their team colors. There's also a lot of great hunting, fishing, & golf trails. If you like history, Prattville has several historical sites like Bell House, Posey House, etc.

I live in the southeastern part of AL & I don't think I could ever enjoy living anywhere else.

I live in Alabama and no, you wont ever ever have to worry about a blizzard. Prattville is a good area, you should be able to find a home with land, with little problem. So, when are you moving?

I love ponds, even to swim wth the tadpoles and catfish to eat LOL!

I am sure land and house would be much cheaper than Montana. And your "snow experience" would be worth it when you move to AL and always be prepared for snow better than those folks who never experienced snow driving LOL!

Snow driving in the south is not the same as in the north. The people that think snow is snow find there self in trouble on snowy southern roads.

I drove a School Bus in KY and I love the fact they have snow days and there is not even a flake on the ground!!

Worse further south. That far south they high crest roads, dig deep ditches, own no snow equipment an have almost all ice storms feed by the gulf. Even when you do get real snow it still melts an refreezes on the roads as ice. An chains an spikes are prohibited.

Of course they don't close the schools their that would be about everyday if they did.
