We are moving and cannot have chickens anymore

Oh well, you do what you have to do and come back bigger and better, just think of the possibilities,

Good luck to you all.

You folks are the best. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for
the messages you are writing. I'm not sure what I did to deserve it
but thank you all. Wow.

Again, I'm not leaving BYC and will be in a chicken withdrawl in October
and will need everyones help to get me through it.

You're all gonna be sick of my whining about no chickens by then.
"Shut up PC. Go buy a chicken at Stop&Shop!!"

Thanks for asking about Drumstick. He will be staying in the same school.
It's a Christian school he has been in since kindegarten. The academic
program is top notch and he actually prays in school. Imagine that.
Even if I was an athiest he would be going there but that is a conversation
for a different thread. My inlaws live close to the school so that is a plus
too.

You guys ROCK!!!

I owe all of you some help with your coops. I've got the tools just send the
plane tickets.

I know someone with bantam house chickens... you could do that if you really needed the sweeties around! Good luck with the move, it sounds like a great decision for your family.

WoW big changes, but it sounds like you are ready to tackle them all. The hardest part, as you mentioned, will be the chicken withdrawl. BUT in the end, you will get the best reward of all, a new place with a GIGANTIC chicken coop, all decked out to your specifications. Whenever you are feeling chicken sad, just get out the pen and paper and start planning out that new coop

Good for your soon-to-be-RN wife! The world needs more caring people like her!

PC, I know how much you guys love your chickens, and how hard it must be to think of living without them. But you're really in a win win situation here because not only are you caring for your mom, you're saving money for your long term goals.

We did a similar thing when DH's elderly aunt lived with us here for 3 years. She really didn't like the idea of chickens, so we had to set it aside. It was a tough 3 years all around, but I'm so glad we took care of her. You're right to take the long view because time really does fly. Soon enough you'll all be riding around on horses on your new homestead.

PC: It sounds like you are starting out on a wonderful new adventure and planning for a great future for you and yours. I wish you the very best but just because you will be chickenless for a while doesn't mean you have to forsake your friends on BYC.
So keep in touch and let us know how things are going after October.
Give your DW my best wishes for a successful go at becoming a member of one the greatest professions for anyone to seek. If she has your compassion I'm sure she will make a wonderful nurse.

Jacie
