We are slowly loosing our hens. Why?

You mixed the Safeguard with water?

Did you buy this or did you buy the Safeguard Aquasol? This one is not meant to be mixed with water and probably did not work.
I guess that's why I am the clumsy farmer. I did follow the advice of a thread and .3cc down the throat, but that is also the type I mixed with the water for 3 days after. And I didn't put it down the throat for the second round 10 days later.

I will interupt now @ Jim Brown,

The feed you have, throw it all out! Before you do that relate to us when you purchased it and how it has been stored. Also report the run date / date of manufacture. Then get a fresh bag of chick starter and put the birds on that for a few days and look for improvement.

Everything reads like birds are weakened by something making them vulnerable to whatever issues you are chasing after currently.

I can't tell you any of the information other than it was purchased 3 weeks ago at Tractor Supply. I can't tell because I empty the pellets into a sealed plastic container in the coop storage room. (Nature's Best Organic Layers Pellets)
Hope that helps. I'll get new feed, there's not much left anyway.

The correct dose for Safeguard is .23ml PER pound of bird straight to the beak.
I am afraid that if they did have worms that what you did last time didn't do anything.

It is best to get a weight per each bird, since you only have a few it shouldn't be too much.
At least get a good weight on one so you can guesstimate the others.

I transfer mine into a metal can against the mice, but tear the nutrition tag off and record the MFG date(usually printed on the seal band on bottom of bag) and date of purchase on it to save for future reference.

About the feed; always check the mill date on each bag, so that it's within a month, and then feed it within another two weeks, or three weeks max. Some vitamins are being lost as it ages, and it matters.
I store mine in the original bags, in metal garbage cans, so I can keep track of things.
And I agree, feeding an all-flock feed with separate oyster shell has worked best for my flock too.

When we are gone, we always have someone check on the flock at least once daily. We do set things up to be as trouble free as possible, but still, with deep bedding and full feeders, the waterers need freshening up, and the 'chicken sitter' gets fresh eggs daily too.
