hi all, i hope everyone is doing well! it's been a while since i've posted here as my flock has mostly been able to keep themselves out of trouble for the past few months. unfortunately, that streak has been broken today as just this morning upon releasing my ducks from the coop, my 1 year old female duck Pickles flopped out of the door with a very apparent limp. she managed to hobble her way out into the run with her sisters, but she is unable to put pressure on her right leg. it doesn't seem neurological as she is completely normal behavior-wise, but her leg seems very tender. she's had mild sprains before that resolved within a day, but this seems much worse than what she's had previously. should i be worried about a potential fracture? what can i do for her for the time being? thank you kindly for reading, here's a video of her current limp

Good morning! I’m sorry about Pickles. The video doesn’t play, so I couldn’t see her.
Do you have any males with her?
Is she possibly being overbred?
Do they free range with any other animals?

I would isolate her to give her rest. Still let her have some swim time a few times a day, but be right there to supervise.
Also, increase her protein like with some scrambled eggs mixed with feed. Sprinkle some niacin on top of the eggs.
Do this for a week or so and see if she improves.

thank you for your reply! she's currently in a mixed flock (chickens and ducks), but all of her flock mates are females. they are ranged in a small paddock most days. sorry about the video; i'll try reuploading it. for now i will definitely start her with some scrambled egg and niacin, thank you!

Hi!

That's exactly what one of my two started doing about a month and a half ago. I bought this and mixed a teaspoon in about two cups of feed, plus put Poultry Cell in their water, plus put frozen peas in their pool.

It took a couple days to see improvement and daily she kept getting better until in about a week she was pretty much back to normal, totally fine in two weeks.

Here's my post in case you wanted to see other folks recommendations.
