The design was taken from Jayare's Cick,s design.

We made the run part 8x8, and the coop is 8x4. I have the door going from the front, so I don't loose floor space. I am using it right now for 31 4-7 week old chicks. It has a haet lamp in the coop. We are currently lookong for scrap supplies to build more of these before the chicks outgrow it. Hubby said that he wished we saw the design for these before we built our coop, he would never have built a stationary coop.

I'm glad my tractor was some help for you. How did yours turn out? got any pics of it? That's how I got my insperation on my coops and tractor by just looking around on here and then just winging it and seeing what developed when it was done. This has been a great site for me to learn all sorts of things about my new addiction of raising chickens.

I hope they love their new home.

You wouldn't imagine how many times over the weekend we looked at your tractor while building this one. You have to overlook the mess in the yard, with the kids running around and all, it looks awful at the moment. We're going out this evening to clean it up.

We still need to shingle the roof.

Looks great!!!. How did you do your access doors? Have you done any nest boxes yet? I haven't done any nest boxes or inside roost yet on mine because the little chickies in it right now are too young but in the next week or so I want to have the other two 9x10 runs and coops done and will then move these little ones over to it so I can put my Phoenix in this one. My Gold Phoenix Hen is broody right now and sitting on an assortment of 7 eggs that should hatch out about April 8th. So there will only be 3 of the 4 Phoenix in there for a while till after the hatch. (2 Silver Hens and a Gold Roo.)

Will you put up a roost somewhere in the run for them to roost on during the day?

Keep up the good work and welcome to the addiction.

We haven't put nesting boxes in yet, because the oldest are 8 weeks. Our access door is actually one of the pieces of wood under the coop. Eventually we're going to put a door on the front too. We will probably eventually put some roost in the run too.

We still need to put wheels on it too. We pretty much did what we needed to so we could put the chicks in it, and will finish the rest when we have time.

I don't really know anything about cornish, but I don't see why it wouldn't work.
