We originally purchased two chickens in April of 2014 with my son naming the two Halley & Hanna after two fraternal twin girls in his 3rd Grade class.
About two days ago Halley was injured by an animal in the early evening before returning to the chicken coop. She had a bad cut on her back & we kept her in isolation away from the other chickens hoping she might recover.
Today Halley died & I thought it would be appropriate to have her buried in our composting area where we have a mobile chicken coop on skids. I made a 20 inch x 20 inch open box casket. My son dug the hole placing a 2x8x16 inch cinder block in the bottom & then using similar block for the tombstone
