5 coons in 7 days.
But this morning is a horse of a different color.
I have not been to the barns yet, but I can see trap from porch.
I caught something, not a coon, I think possum.
If so, especially nice sized. I'll go out at daylight.
What to do, shoot or release?View attachment 2747766
Usually if you see one coon there are others around because they are usually in groups. As you said in your original post SSS. If you don't want to eliminate there are usually a wildlife rescues that will come and take them. They do release them but have release areas where they won't impact others. Good luck...

We shoot em, haul to back pasture. Buzzards and coyotes dispose of them. The one I took Saturday was gone when I took the one yesterday.
No fur, no bones, no smell, nothing. Completely gone.
I will continue to eliminate coons. They have not attempted to get into coop/run, they are going for feed. I have a can of whole deer corn, mistake buy, wanted cracked and got wrong one.
Anyhow, that's what coons are after.
So I bait trap with corn.
