We got 1st and 2nd place at the fair!!!

from what ive seen at 6 fairs ive been too this year 4h judge dont know much about the standard

I still haven't been able to go see them but I've had a few people text me about them. Everytime I hear of someone going, I ask them to check on my babies. I've been so worried about them! Thankfully everyone has said they look fine. It wasn't a very pleasant experience when dropping them off. On the Dixie Classic facebook page, someone was mentioning seeing mites. When I dropped mine off, there was blood all on the floor from where some of the chickens were still bleeding after having their blood drawn.

I'm gonna keep them away from my other chickens for a while after I bring them home.

OK. I'm not understanding this. On our cage, you see that it has a 1st place sticker on the D'Uccle and a 2nd place on the silkie. Yet, they just posted the winners on the fair website and my name isn't listed for either of the chickens.

So what exactly is going on? Did we win or not? I've had several people call and text me saying they saw that our chickens got 1st and 2nd.

They may have gotten first and second, but the RB you see is for Reserve of Breed. The bird that beat yours, got BB or Best of Breed. These birds were selected to go against others in their class, for yours the Feather-Legged division.

What you are probably seeing is the "Best of Class" online. Otherwise it would be quite difficult to list all the winners of all the breeds in the show.

My bad, they did it oddly. Perhaps they only did it for 4H/FFA people and not for the open class?
