We got our first egg this morning!!!

I'm beyond excited! We got our EE chicks (I guess I should start calling them hens!) at the first of March. I just thought it would be a few more weeks before they started laying!

The egg is small and it was dirty (I hadn't even set up a nest for them yet) and it looks more grey than green, really, but I feel like a proud grandma!

Yay for your first egg!! Better get busy on those nest boxes asap! Of my various breeds, my EE was my first to lay at 19.5 weeks of age. Like you, I'd figured on a few more weeks. There's a thread somewhere where you can post pics of your first eggs - you need to take a pic

I am green with envy!!! I got my BA chicks on March 2nd, but no eggs yet. Their combs and wattles turned red a long time ago and I've even heard the egg song a few times, but they were fibbing. I know they are getting in the nest every day, so I will just have to be patient.
