We Hatched A Double Yolker!!!

How neat, the egg definately looks bigger. Too bad you couldn't have seen it in action. If you only had two orphington eggs and now have 3 orphington babies then you must have hatched a double yolker - CONGRATS! I am incubating a batch right now of silkies and some barnyard mixes and I have one long skinny egg in the mix group. Wish I could tell if it's a double yolker but I can't see in those brown eggs.

Still doesn't make sense. If only one pipped, then the other would have drowned, eventually. Unless you look inside that big ol egg, and see that the membrane had created a very large air sack, which went along the length of the egg rather than just up at the top, I am going to call shenanigans

They're very cute. I don't know anything about hatching other than what I read on here. I, too, thought you couldn't hatch a double without helping them. But, there ya' go. A Passover miracle, or something.

2 eggs 3 chicks, that means that one had 2 chicks inside. the 2nd must have climbed out the hole instead of pipping its on hole.

They're beautiful-- well done! I really love their colors. What kind of orps are they? I have three buffs and they're not fuzzy any more... but man do they have personality!
