We have Eggs Again! Do You?

I just read through your yummy bagel recipe again. When it says to boil them, are you just using plain water?
We add a good squeeze of honey to the water. I've heard as many opinions on this as people to whom I've spoken about boiling bagels...lol. Plain water will work, and the longer you boil, the chewier your bagel will be (anywhere from 30 seconds to two minutes a side). The honey, barley malt extract or baking soda added to the water is, to the best of my understanding, about browning the crust. I should update that blog post to mention that! Thanks!

While I haven't made pretzels in FOREVER I do recall a baking soda water step in order to get the browning.

I just started on my bagels!

Now I want one... And I don't even like eggs. Lol. I want to like them. Maybe these bagels are the key. 💖

If you eat meat, see if you can find some taylor ham/pork roll at the grocery store - add that, with an over-easy egg, S&P, lil ketchup it'll be *chefs kiss* or a classic NJ breakfast 😬

Editing: and if you don't eat meat, I've tried this with seitan 👍
