We have our first egg!!!

Despite it being bitterly cold and frosty, one of our hens has decided that it's as good a time as any to start laying.
Pretty sure it was one of the Sulmtalers (most likely Bumblebee or Sonic), as we're sure we read that Polish lay white eggs.

Nevertheless, for a first attempt we are rather impressed and proud parents. Just have to wait for the rest to start now.....

Congratulations! It's always a thrill when a girl lays her first egg. Best way to get the most from it is poaching it for 2-3 minutes, bit of salt and it will be the best egg you've ever tasted!

Thanks @CTKen, It was pretty nice to finally see an egg when checking in on the the girls after work. Hopefully the others follow suit soon and then we'll have eggs aplenty for a fancy omlette as well....
