We have two homes...can I still own two Homing Pigeons?

I really appreciate all of your imput.....I worked on the Avairy today in Wisconsin....I think I am almost ready to order the Rock Pigeons. My daughter is getting married at our house in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin on a front porch....and I would love for her to release the pigeons on at her wedding. Right now the Avairy has a cement floor...what do you suggest I put down if anything.???

I think I am ready to take on some rock dove Pigeons....and see what happens. I have been doing a bunch of reading to prepare...so let's see what happens with the two homes. I really enjoyed your video....you seem like such a wonderful and caring person. You have a lucky granddaughter....family. p.s. do you think I should get two...three...or four to start with? If you want a good flock of young from these to work with n breed from, three to six pairs best start to work with to breed same age young to train and fly, as then young used to do ceremonies events etc n three six adult pairs kept up to reproduce, at least till you choose fastest homers from longest distances in different directions.

I guess we will see! But never say never.....I am a women of Christian "faith" and have seen some pretty awesome miracles in my life...so nothing is impossible. If it was meant to be ..... then it will be. And that's how I live! I will let you know.

What do you suggest I put down if anything.??? It it were me I would cover the cement with a plastic tarp. I would have 2 tarps . When cleaning day arrives pull out the soiled tarp shake and hose it off when I get around to it. Put the clean one back in place right away.
On a related subject
My nest boxes are designed to accommodate a empty feed bag. When cleaning day comes pop out the soiled pop in the new.

The feed bags are nylon mesh and in the winter the poop freezes and peels off easily and in the summer put them out in the sun to bake they clean easily and are good for a number of exchanges before you give them a toss.

You and I have now the same number of pigeons none.
I will be starting out with 6 squeakers in the spring I will be going to 3 different lofts to select my birds at about 4 to six weeks of age Hoping for 2 birds from each loft. I may not buy any from the other 2 lofts as I prefer on fanciers birds.

I think the number of birds you start out with is a decision best left up to yourself. You could just start out with 2 birds and do in line breeding and you may have a good flock. That being said you know what happens to humans when they start marrying their cousins. You could also swap birds to vary the blood lines with other fanciers. It all depends how far you want to pursue this hobby and what size of flock you want to maintain. Personally I was up to over 40 birds in two years with a base of just 4 birds.
