Oh Carri.....I am so sorry for your loss. YOu are NOT a bad chicken mom. These things happen. It was just her time to go....on to a bigger flock. Please...dont beat yourself up....you are a great chicken mom, and she knew it!

Joe- She was a standard Cochin. I love the breed but I just can't do that breed anymore... Poor Chicken Hawk was SO hot in this 100+ weather.

sorry for your lose. we all have had it happen . i just let out my 6 week out chicks to free range about 2 weeks ago .i aready lost 1.we all have special chickens that we love more.
