This world is crazy

, that's the worse article I have ever read over a chicken & rabbit keeping on your own property and walking to a school zone? I think DRUGS would be more important than a chicken!! Heaven forbid a wild bird flys over their kids!

Apparently the site will not show your comment....would you be willing to post it here so we can read it too?

Wow. Just.....wow. I don't know what to say, other than I think someone wasn't allowed to have a bunny when he/she was a kid. Death to bunnies! Death to chickens! And how is it they would end up in school? Unless of course he's referring to the possibility of someone stealing the animals off the porch....But whatever. That has to be one of the most stupid articles I've read, but I'm not surprised. After joining this forum and listening to people's stories I don't think I'll ever be surprised again. I left a comment for you!

I think everyone should leave a comment...I did! IT says it will be viewable after it's accepted. If you scroll down to the bottom of the article you can add your info. Sonia...appeal this! That is nonsense!

I totally agree! I just woke up and read this article and was thinking-am I half asleep? This seems like a really screwy article!
I can't believe the whole situation! They obviously have no real reason to deny you or they would not be talking about chickens and rabbits escaping into the school. For crying out loud! What about vicious dogs that live near the school? I'm boggled.....

I also left a comment, but posted it before I thought of copying it to post here.

Basically, I just made the point that lots of classrooms have rabbits as class pets and hatch chicks as educational experiences, and that the town health official was a bit off, thinking that this posed a board of health issue.

For goodness sakes, how can they see this as a health risk? I'm a registered nurse as well, and we have rabbits AND chickens. Good Lord, we're INFESTED! LOL.

I'm also glad not to live in Titusville. I am in PA, though, and we are rural enough that we didn't have to apply for anything when we got our animals.

Seriously, this country has major issues if a family cannot even keep a bunny for a pet.

I would appeal, appeal, appeal, and if nothing else, make them feel a bit stupid for making this a front page issue.

Sheesh. I'm so sorry you are going through this!!
Em
