After losing 2 mallard/english callers in 3 days, we decided to move our brooding free range rouen hen last night. We got her and her nest and moved them into our fenced in backyard and now she will have nothing to do with the nest. We now realize that we really messed up. We were only trying to help her. We lost 2 mommas and their nests to predators this past spring in addition to the ones we've lost in the last few days. We are having a very serious predator problem right now.
Apparently I have now been assigned the duty of trying to hatch these babies. I have a hovabator circulated air incubator. I'm not sure about temps or humidity for hatching duck eggs. We're unsure of what day we would be on. DH thinks shes been broody for about 15-18 days. I'm not sure if he's correct. What should I do? Someone please give me some advice. I cranked the bator up last night with temps 99.3 and humidity at 60%. Thanks in advance!!
