Our chickens are 5 weeks old and getting bigger...they have their feathers and their run is ready but my husband is behind schedule on finishing their coop. These guys are getting too big to stay overnight in their kiddie pool palace in the garage at night. Can we build them a temp coop with cardboard boxes to stay in at night inside their run? The run is fully surrounded with protection.

What do you think?

You could put plastic pet crates or a dog house inside the run. How cold does it get there at night? Bales of straw are a good, temporary, form of insulation.

Hi

So far it's been in the 50's (one low of 46 on Friday)...IF that's okay night time temps do we need to worry about enclosing them inside or let them huddle by themselves?
