Sarah has been moulting. There are white feathers all over the place and she's quite luminous.

She's not even looking her best, being only a week or so off co-brooding with Sarah in a cramped nest through some very hot weather. The first thing Sarah did was drop half her feathers! But Katie's still carrying her old ones and her comb hasn't perked up yet

That old phone completely failed to appreciate the hens!

When the chicks were living in their brooder on the table, I leaned my old one against the brooder to take a video. As you do. Hilda pecked it so hard, it fell onto the floor and the screen smashed! New phone.

They helped you to upgrade. These chicks are keepers. They are helping you to be your best self.

Making the most of new flying skills and the cool breeze from the AC.

They'll be moving out on Saturday! I'm looking forward to it.

I'm a little worried about tomorrow. First, I can't work at home and will be at the office for the day. Second, the forecast says 41°C, so the chicks will need doors open for the AC to reach their space. Third, hypothetically they can hop over their screen now. Four, would Blossom leave them alone all day?

I could shut her in the spare bedroom with her necessities all day. It's quite a large room, with a side room attached and an AC.

I think that's what I'll do. The peace of mind will be worth it and she sleeps most of the day anyway.
