Ed Harris Redmond man shoots dog attacking chickens remember me????

    This is Ed Harris
I want to share with you info about what we all face for protecting our loved and cherished animals from selfish, better neighbors. We just received an extortion letter from an attorney representing the GappÂ’s in an attempt to go after myself and my insurance company. This letter basically says I made up everything and that I hunted down Mr. Gapp's dog and shot it off my property. The letter is five pages long.
I'm trying to process this new event. You all helped my family this summer so much and we could really use the support again more than ever. This was very hard on my children and wife the last time. We could use your prayers again.

    Thank You
I just want everyone to know what you could be facing given the way some people and their communities see their animals.

I would find the most expensive, experienced lawyer in the State and counter sue that arrogant b-stard.

They have done more damage to you and your family than what happened to that poor dog he let roam the country. He is responsible for all of this.

All the facts are on your side and you will win. Take him for everything he has!

I'm really sorry your family is having to deal with this all over again. I guess you have already looked into county ordinances that may be on your side, & stuff like that. Hope you don't have to go to the expense of hiring an attorney to protect you & your family from a financial burden this could bring you. If so, make a list of lawyers you'd like to represent you, then call them all to see if they will provide a free 1st visit, to see if they think they can help. Also ask about their fees up front, win or lose. Some will work for a Contingency Fee, so if they lose, they don't get paid. That will give you a good idea how they feel about your case. If I were you, I'd start with my insurance company and see if they can / will offer any help, or an attorney. After all, they may be the ones having to fork out some cash if this all goes "south".
Again, I'm sorry this is having to be rehashed.

Quote:Just make sure you keep your attorney involved before you do anything. Make sure your attorney understands livestock situations when a domestic predator is involved. If you can provide the attorney with other cases where the shooting was justified do so. [IMG]

I was hoping to start the work on the way chickens are looked at in the city we live in this fall after my kids got back in school. School started yesterday so here I go.

  10. Well, Many a dumb law suit has been won by contacting your lawyer and having ALL the paperwork the numbskulls are producing go DIRECTLY to your Lawyer.

Sit on your hands for as long as it takes. They will eventually run out of money, fight and see that you could really give a turd about thier situation.

Do not let them get you upset even if you have to completely ignore them.

Let them spend big bucks on their lawyer and NEVER answer any questions they may try to make you answer in their paperwork.

I have used this method a few times and it is cheap for me and expensive for them and NO court is going to go after you unless you provide a means for criminal action by answering questions.

Trust me, they WILL NOT reciprocate with any questions you may have for them. So just do not start the process and let them stew on it for a few months.

OH, if they want to serve you. just do not be available. The sheriffs office has better things to do than try to serve some one that avoids them.
