We Quit Cigarettes

DH had to stop all his supplements when he got his bone marrow transplant. So many meds interact unpredictably with so many supplements that the docs often have no way of knowing which ones can play nice with which (or which combination of) others.

Unless you have a specific diagnosed lack in some area, it's pretty easy to supply many times your RDA with diet alone. Some exceptions are vitamin D if you don't get much sun exposure (like you live in the friggin' FROZEN NORTH like we do 🙄) and (for menstruating women in particular) iron. Eat a "rainbow" of healthy foods and you won't need supplements with those two possible exceptions. This assumes you don't abuse alcohol, tobacco, weed, other drugs, and don't have health issues requiring additional nutrients.

I bout peed when I saw eat a rainbow.....good thing "of healthy foods" was with that!
Skittles cannot save you! :lau

I know cassettes do. There's folks out there like me that prefer analog. ebay is expensive now they used to be really cheap now one can cost the same as when it was new. Artists are also starting to offer their music on cassette again. This crowder cassette (wifes) is brand new she got it at his last concert here about a month ago. I collect old stuff but it's making a resurgence

OMG I hated cassettes. Always getting jammed up in the machine, rewinding the spewed tape with a pencil (the hexagonal kind; round doesn't work), cases shattering even as you delicately peel off the cellophane? Plus they get brittle with age. Records were better, but of course inconvenient for playing in the car and so easy to scratch... Yeah, I'm too deaf to hear analog differences if there are any. I love digital. 😂😂😂

If you smoke....no amount of sun is going to make up your vitamin D deficiency.
I live outdoors.

I actually was going to see if my vit. D level would come up on its own after I quit smoking.
I'm going to find out on Tuesday how much it's going to cost me to run that one test again in a few months.
If it isn't ridiculous I'm doing it....I won't take the supplement and see just how bad the smoking affected mine.
It's pretty pricey. Plus (in our case) insurance won't pay unless your labs and maybe your age meet certain criteria to indicate a risk of low levels. I would think being (or having been) a smoker would factor into that. Your doctor probably knows. They don't always know or seem to care what's covered, but they do seem informed on the vitamin D testing.

Hold

I'm digging for my bill now.

I think this means thAt I had to pay 28.28 for my portion that the insurance wouldn't cover.
I doubt they would cover any of the next test since it will be one I demand on my own, right?

Unless you can get your doc to order it?
I don't have insurance, I have to pay the amount on the left...which is BS.
This is why I need Kdog to go to the doctor now.

Tell her how ridiculous doctor stuff costs.
She doesn't believe me.
