We Quit Cigarettes

I can play this game!!

I found the number one song on my birthday.
I was not all that impressed with it and had never heard it before.
It tends to date me, I am pretty sure @sourland remembers this one well. :lau:lau

It was the same day he invented the wheel... :old

The object is the number one song on your 12th birthday not the day you were born.

Well, here's mine..... And iirc, a sad note, the writer of this song passed from covid-19 earlier this week too!

Speaking of sad.........Tom Dempsy died of covid 19 last night here in NOLA
For those of you who don't know who he was, he played football for the Saints as a place kicker. In 1969 he broke the field goal record with a 63 yard field goal, 3 sec left in the game with a win of 2 points. Interestingly I was 12 and my best friend and I were there.
That record held for 4 decades.
He was 73 Rest in peace Stumpy Some of us will never forget

So much better!!!

Let me retry.

This one is way better, I like it.
Besides it must have been written for me.

That one of my fav's, from high school My Besty from HS and I would meet at her house and have toast and coffee some morning. Her Daddy (Who was a local judge) loved the song as well, and we would have to sing it before the court reporter drove us to school :lau:lau

Way back then I was only allowed to listen to country music.

I love that song..

We were allowed two types of songs in our home back then, Country Music and Gospel. Our music was mainly life as we didn’t have TV and I think there was only one radio in the house.

My Dad got polio right after I was born, so there were several years he couldn’t walk or farm. He supported the family by playing guitar in a Country Western Band.

Even after he regained his ability to walk enough that he could farm. Weekends were Music night at ours or his cousins home.

Thanks for posting that...
