I went all out.
You know how at some restaurants they give you bread and butter to fill up on while you're waiting for your food?

I'm going to pretend we are at one of those places tonight with these.

Only because they were on sale.

I have boneless NY strips in the freezer because they were on sale ($4.99/lb.). I also have pork chops in the freezer because they were on sale for $1.09/lb.

YES!!!! And that fat will be delicious! Can I come over?
I just paid $50 for 4 thick steaks a couple of days ago...not on much of a sale. But they were so delicious looking and fatty. PLUS, had we eaten out, it would've cost $60-$70 dollars. I have a much better idea how I'd like my steaks done and how much fat to leave on when we get our steer done.

We were in town to have a necropsy done on a calf. (Twist at the stomach)
These steaks were $12 something/lb. The lean hamburger on sale is $4.50 or $4.60ish. The extra lean is $4.99 I think.

I feel clumsy and dangerous enough when I'm handling tiny bantam chicks or just-hatched guinea keets -- I don't think that I could ever do quail. So little.
The very thought makes me quail, to be honest....
