We Quit Cigarettes

All quitters must follow the rules.

Rules:
1. Take all tests...you may pick and choose questions to answer.
2. Follow all rules.
3. No replacements.

:frow. UPDATED...Today is day SEVENTY something.
I can do it.

Me: :barnie:barnie:barnie:barnie

I decided last month that I was going to try to do something I've never done before, quit smoking.

I knew I couldn't do it on my own so I got some medicine called Chantix. I tried Chantix about 10 years ago but I did not take it for the correct amount of time...I quit smoking but started back up after 3 months. I also do not remember it being this hard to quit back then.

I've been so worried about the side effects (I had one bad side effects last time) that I was not thinking about how hard today was going to be.

I have been on the medicine for a week with no bothersome side effects...that I was a nervous wreck about.

I have not smoked today and I really don't want to but geez I want to.:barnie:barnie:barnie

Congratulations Kiki! You must go "cold turkey" all the way. When you get the urge, think about all the bad effects of smoking and read this list every time you want a smoke...foul nasty breath (who wants to kiss you???); polluted lungs; smelly fingers, hair, and clothes; yellow fingers, blood clotting; shortness of breath; you will most likely die sooner; money goes up in smoke; gum disease; cancer; heart disease, stroke, lung diseases, diabetes, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), which includes emphysema and chronic bronchitis. Smoking also increases risk for tuberculosis, certain eye diseases, and problems of the immune system, including rheumatoid arthritis. I hope this list helps you stop forever. V/R Tree Goat

Thanks!

I knew all of this but it didn't make a difference...in making me want to quit.

I'm not quite sure what made me decide to quit but I'm glad I did.

I will never smoke again.

I did something really dangerous. I went into a gas station in and forgot my mask..
One of the straps on my mask broke right as I was getting ready to head into Wal-Mart not too long ago. I kinda figure it might be a lost cause tho, seeing as I can't keep one on my kids for any meaningful amount of time.... I mean, what's the point if they won't wear one?
