We Quit Cigarettes

So, its a "gulley washer" and another severe T-storm in-bound. 1.89" since it started about 3-4AM.

heres the story behind my "Lucky #13".

Trouble, was his nickname in college(and boy did he earn it). He had a jersey that was green and white with "Lucky #13" on it. His test taking shirt that he only & always wore on test days. He said its always been good for him. (giggles)
So, the spring semester when he wore it a few times I asked him about why and he broke out with details from the bible. He said, you know how 6 is well established as the "number of the beast" aka the devil, and a bad number? And you know how 7 is the good number as in forgive 7 times 7 story. I was thinking, yeah - okay so,where ya going.
He laughed and said simple math.

The bible has ying and yang in it with 6 & 7. They are together in balance.
so 6 + 7 = 13 Thus its a true balance having 13 as the lucky number. I giggled and thought more about how stigma, F.E.A.R. & ignorance have done so much damage to our culture and still does. So after that i started to think of it as a good thing and not long after that I decided to place it as a "lucky number" for me as well.

That was back around 1996-1999 in college dorm life for me.

This one neat little bit of math still makes me smile every time i think of it.

The schools in Oregon have closed! For...2 weeks and 2 days!?
:barnie:he:eek:
It's a little heavy handed, yes. Personally, I think this approach makes more sense than quarantining only folks who test positive or have been exposed to those who have tested positive. Treats everyone a little more equally and does more to eliminate those sick people who slip through the cracks. Slipping through the cracks isn't very hard to do because of the testing criteria and limited testing ability.....

All of it is pretty stupid, though. I understand the reasoning, but the efforts are largely futile. Spreading panic not helping matters any.

I'm in love with your command of the English language.

And it is a prime number.

Thank you for sharing the story. Interesting approach and it obviously worked. Anyone know why 13 is considered unlucky? Or why 13 is a "baker's dozen"?

Wood fired is more traditional. Pain in the butt, but traditional. Copper or glass kettle?
Never ask that in a public forum. Everyone knows that is against the law. Carnivore.

Moonshine cures everything or makes it where you don't care. Either is fine. :lau
Everyone needs one. And a spare hidden in the woods. One of the stupidest shows I watched was a bunch of moonshiners doing their business on camera. Including hidden camera sales and marketing. In my defense, I was sick in a hotel far from home and it was the best (term used very loosely) thing on. Amazed they were still in business and that the camera man wasn't arrested as an accomplice. Inconceivable! <said indignantly with a lisp>
Yeah, that wasn't real shine that they were making. My dad got some from "Tickle" from that show and it was really GOOD apple pie but if it was 10 proof or more I would be shocked. My dad got some of the unflavored "legal shine" from the ABC store and spiked the "apple pie" that had little to no alcohol in it to make a decent drink...

I know I can't. I start from the beginning so I would know what was going on.
Yeah, i read like 30 pages at the beginning, kept getting further and further behind so once i was over 500 pages behind I gave up and jumped ahead.... I was over 30 pages behind when I got on today...
