We Quit Cigarettes

I was going to ask you the same question! I'm just ...ok. I'm still having a hard time. They say this shit can go on for3-6 mos. I ain't gonna make it!
You ARE making it, Webby. Not 3-6 months at a time... ONE day. One moment, if that's your limit. 3 months from now doesn't even exist yet. Today. Right this moment--that is where reality lives. Can you make it one more moment? Then maybe just one more? 'Cause if you can do that, then just keep doing it. You've come a long way--there's so much behind you now. When this is all behind you, it will be like a dream remembered in the morning of a sunny, beautiful day. You will be so glad, and so free! You are winning.

@ShannonR, how did today go? Are you and your boys okay (well, aside from being sick)?
Kids are doing okay. I'm doing okay, another day done!! It's been an interesting day, car troubles abound. I have a broken pick up (not mine) sitting in my driveway right now. Engine is totally blown. The whole thing was kinda stressful but I made it through.
Still eating way too much food. Need to stop this crap.

And how was your day, @Sapphire Sebright ?
@Kiki are you doing okay??

My day? Kinda lazy, to be honest... lazy, and damp, because we got some snow/sleet stuff last night -- no accumulation, thankfully -- and then it was misting all day long. Basically, I stayed inside and checked on the birds from time to time. And composed poems on another thread....
Speaking of birds, Marshmallow laid her fifth egg today! Seven more to a dozen... and to tiny deviled eggs!
Good to hear that you and your little ones are doing okay, ShannonR. Good going on making it through another day, and best of luck to you tomorrow! You can beat this addiction ShannonR! Keep it up!

Well, I'm smoking 11/2 packs a day! I'll work on the smoking when all the other stuff quits bothering me! I wish some of you would do a little research on bipolar and ADHD. I feel alone. I don't know if any of you know about those two things? And the drugs that help them? I'm not talking to just you. I'm talking in general. Meg you have been so helpful. You and ShannonR and Urs, and sour, and all of you. I love you all!😘

Yes, I am familiar with ADHD and Bipolar disorder having served as a school assistant principal from 1989 until retirement in 2004. I worked with families whose children were on an Individual Education Plan (IEP) for medicated conditions. Some ADHD students were on daily meds like Ritalin and others were taking supplements like Picnoginal with grape seed.
Some students would go off meds during the summer breaks and would transition back on as the school year began.

Bipolar disorder was as diverse as mild to severe. Some students were on no meds to some on continuos medication.
I recall one incident where a female Junior High student had a significant meltdown. The student was brought to the counseling office by the school nurse. I knew her well. When I arrived, she ran to me, sobbing and wrapped her arms around me. We ended up sitting on the floor in a corner in the head principal's office with her cradled in my lap until her mother and an ambulance arrived. Turned out the 14 year old chose to go off her meds without her mom knowing. She said "the medicine made her feel numb to everything" and she was "having bad dreams". Her doctor changed her med to a newer one and her condition improved.
The Bipolar emotional highs and lows were stressful for each young person. Some dealt with the stress by self medicating with alcohol or pot. Others simply needed daily encouragement and stable activity.
Knowing the pressures each condition created for my students, I can surmise having both must be extremely more difficult without medical intervention with medication.
@webbysmeme you are a remarkable lady!

So another night of serious T-storms and the dogs are a Hot Mess..... PSX_20200318_011007.jpg
