So we live in a suburban environment, and had two White Chinese Geese. Their names were Daisy and Oliver and I have been truly upset because we sold our geese. They were hatched June 3, 2020, so we had them for some months for sure and they imprinted to us, but it was just difficult since we live in a neighborhood. We plan on moving though where there is some land and I want to get some more future geese, I honestly didn’t know I could miss them so much. I’m really going to miss those morning honks and them flapping in their pool, and holding them. I do think moving with them definitely would have been difficult but hopefully we can move to some place with acreage and get some more geese. Any tips on how to cope with that feeling of not being in control? I just feel like I can’t do anything about it since they are gone now. Any tips on how to deal with missing them? They went to a great home with a lady who has 20 acres and four other geese so I know they are going to be a good addition. I just really miss them. It’s been since Monday without them, and it feels more empty. I miss my babies. 😞

It can be hard to get over not having your pet I have gone through that but then I got more chickens so the feeling went away but I suggest telling yourself that you know that there are in a good home and that it was best for both of you.

I still mourn for my sweet Pilgrim geese that were killed by predators. One male in particular was more like a puppy in how he interacted with us. They brought such joy to our home everyday. I'd love to have more, but I can't go through the heartbreak again.

Just try to remind yourself that they’re together, they’re well cared for, and they’re having fun adventures every day.
It’s the easiest thing in the world to bond with geese, they’re amazing little souls who bring so much into our lives, I’m sorry you had to give them up but you gave them a good home and taught them to be well mannered people friendly geese and now they’ve gone off to live their own lives, think of it like kids going to college, and you’ll have the opportunity to give some more special little goosies a good home again.

Yes I try to remind myself of that, and it is easy to bond with geese especially when they are just goslings and helpless. But hopefully one day we will end up getting more! Thank you for the help! 😊
