We will call her "Surprise"... if she lives!

Oh I am so glad she is doing well and she is absolutely beautiful. I love the color maybe a blue slate or a blue slate mix. I dont know breeds well so im just guessing.

Surprise is doing great! I do think "she" is a blue slate, or maybe a lavender - she is so pretty! She has been living with our 2nd batch of chicks and getting along just fine. Today we let them out of their little area for the first time, into the rest of the chicken coop. We fashioned a small opening so the younger birds could go through but the bigger ones couldn't. So far so good! It took Surprise a couple tries to figure out how to get back in but she finally figured it out.

Not the best pic, I couldn't get a good one of her today.

19 1/2 weeks old ! She know she is a turkey - sortof LOL. She will hang out with our other turkeys during the day about 50% of the time, and then the other 50% she hangs out with the chickens - and we have caught her going back to her old chicken house where the broody roosts that raised her. Still hoping "she" is a she! I think she is such a beautiful color. I believe it is called a Slate, as someone mentioned earlier.

LOL, I agree, it reminds me of the story of the Ugly Duckling! When the Mama Hen started roosting again, we took Surprise and put her in with our little batch of chicks because I was worried she would get lost, etc since the hen was not as attentative. I wonder now if the hen recognizes her as the baby she raised.

Hmm me to like i don't think your a nnormal chicken but a mutated one like my bunnies and cats feel about eachother

bunny

'hey your a mutated bunny'

cat

'hey your an odd looking cat' with the big ears and little tail

She is doing great, thank you so much for asking! She is not very friendly, doesn't like to be caught, so I can only get pics at a distance LOL. We will be getting her some buddies next spring :)
