We will miss you Deerman

Burt,
As I write this there are tears running down my face. You taught me so much in the short few years we shared. I am honored to call you my friend. I am a lucky person to have had the oppertunity to meet you. We talked just a couple days ago about hatching Emu eggs and your peach eggs. What you have given me, no one has ever given me before. When I look out at your birds in my yard, I will always think of you and what you have taught me. I know I will never know everything you did about them but you gave me a good start. I was looking for you online the other day to tell you something and couldn't find you, I now know why...you have gone to a new home to meet past family and friends you have missed all this time. I wish you were still here but that would be selfish of me. When God gives you your wing please fly high and proud, Rest in Peace my friend, you are in my prayers.

To Burt's family and friends please accept my Deepest Sympathy on the passing of your loved one.

Deerman will be missed.

Burt was the kind of man who faced his sickness with grace, dignity and honesty. Although we only talked a few times off-forum, he was very much admired by me and I can only hope that if I am ever faced with his problems I can be half the man he was in facing them.
He was always helpful and ready to lend an ear or a shoulder. I know he will be missed by not only those of us who knew and loved him, but by generations yet to come by the loss of that advice.

I'm not good with death. The correct words aren't there, so I can only say what's in my heart...

Every man dies
Not every man really lives.

Burt lived!

Goodbye my friend. We'll all miss you.

Very well said my friend, he did indeed live life to the fullest right to the end.

I miss him

He lived each day as though it was his last, He had a ready laugh and a reassuring word, he was a true friend. I liked Burt instantly. There's not many people I can say that about, but he was one of those people who brought joy and laughter with them wherever they were. I always knew I could count on him for advice, and his honest opinion. I am smiling fondly now of the many times he's told me "you're f****** up there Em"

I'm focusing on my many memories of Burt. I hope others will share theirs also.
