Weak, hurt chick?

We got some chicks from a chain feed store last week, and now one of them(the smallest), keeps getting pasty butt, and her leg is all messed up. We've had chicks before, but always had really good luck I guess, because we've never had any sick ones. I'm not sure if the leg got broken, or what, but she can't/won't move it, and the skin is a lot paler than the other leg. I could swear she was walking around and fine when we brought her home. The other ones keep walking on top of her too. I'm just super torn at what to do about her. I clean off her butt daily because the feathers are all crusted and I feel like when she poops it has no where to go. They have medicated chick feed, and Speckled Sussex breed, if that matters. The husband just wants to wait and see, but every time I glance in there, my heart breaks for her. I'll try and get pics in a little while.

Unfortunately they all don't make it. I too would wait and watch, you never know, sometimes they surprise me.

You can put vaseline, or, neosporin, coconut oil, etc on her vent after cleaning to help keep it from building up. As for her leg is the knee inflamed or red and does she put weight on it?

I got a salmon faverolle chick a month ago from a tractor supply company. She had pasty butt everyday and was so weak that she wouldn't eat and was getting pushed around by the bigger chicks (she was the same age but wasn't growing at all.) I thought my chick was going to die for days. She is very happy and healthy now but she is the size of a 2 week old instead of a 4 week old. Don't give up on your chick. She can survive. Clean the pasty butt and apply a little vasaline to the vent. The vasaline helps a lot. When you are cleaning her make sure she doesn't get chilled. If she does then she will just get pasty butt again. Try to figure out whats causing the pasty butt. I heard the most common cause of pasty butt is the chicks are either too hot or too cold. Mine got a little too cold and thats what caused her pasty butt. Another problem could be that their drinking water is too cold. It needs to be more like room temp. I added nutridrench to my chicks water and that helped give her the energy she needed. I was watching my little chick at the feeder and noticed all the bigger chicks were pushing her around and stepping on her. She would just give up and not eat. I moved my little chick in a separate brooder with only one of my other chicks so she had company but could eat without getting trampled. A few days later she got her energy and was eating and acting normal. I put her back with the other chicks and shes been doing great ever since. I attached a picture of her. She is the little white one in the corner. The chick next to her that is double her size is the same age and breed as her.
