Wearing White After Labor Day

My mom was all about that rule...
I own some white gaucho pants and white velour pants I wear all the time.

When I first saw this thread I thought about the scene from 'Never Been Kissed' when she spills the chocolate milk all over her pants and says
'That will teach me to wear white after labor day'

If it drives you mad to wear white after Labor Day then just 'DON'T'!

Those are old fashion rules.If it looks good and/or makes you feel confident by all means wear them.Just don't wear mom jeans.

Nobody really knows how the nonsense got started...some say it was out of snobbery, some say out of utility...but it never was a fashion "rule" to the majority of folks, and still isn't.

White, and white and beige/cream (monochromatic) worn together are classic.....crisp and refreshing any time of year.

Look at everything between Coco Chanel in the 1960's (no fashion slob, lol) to Jackie O & the first Lady today, and a majority of "common" folks inbetween if there's any doubt that it might be a fashion faux pas. And just think of all those beautiful white fur coats...
