I currently own an in-home care company providing service to seniors and this week we started a new client who is home-bound suffering from a brain tumor. He and his mother are quite religious and miss attending Sunday services at their local Episcopal church. He is quite tech savvy and has a laptop and wireless internet access in the house.

My question...what equipment would be needed to establish a real-time connection between the church and his home so they could watch services on Sunday mornings?
The church is on Main Street downtown and there is a free broadband, wireless internet service available.
I know we would need a digital video camera and laptop at the church but is there anything else? What software is necessary to do the web broadcast?

You can do it with windows messenger. You could create a windows messenger account for the machine at the church and set it up so that the web cam is always available to people in the friends list. Then he'd just have to add the account you created to his friends list. When church starts, he'd just need to start a video conference with that friend.

(right click on the friend/contact, select video, view a contacts web cam)
